Continúan los bombardeos a Gaza

Según datos suministrados por UNICEF, las víctimas mortales llegan ya a 870 personas, entre los que se encuentran más de 300 niños y niñas. Los heridos alcanzan los 3.200, de los cuales unos 1000 son menores, la ayuda humanitaria está bloqueada y los hospitales no dan abasto. La población civil parece ser un objetivo militar estratégico a destruir por el ejército, sea en los bombardeos o por falta de suministros médicos, alimentos y agua potable. Luego de 10 días desde que comenzaran los ataques, fue posible una tregua con fines humanitaria, realizada el miércoles 7 de enero, donde por 3 horas se permitió el ingreso de camiones encabezados por la Cruz Roja con ayuda internacional.
Una nueva ocupación Gaza ha sido sitiada por Israel, quien controla por completo el espacio aéreo y marítimo. Para el domingo 4 de enero el ejército israelí hizo sus primeras incursiones por tierra , dejándo incomunicada y dividida vía terrestre el sur y el norte de la Franja de Gaza. La Franja de Gaza es un territorio de 360 km cuadrados, en el cual viven un millón y medio de habitantes en condiciones de enorme precaridad. Desde 1967, luego de la Guerra de los Seis Días, el 80% de la población de Gaza requiere de la ayuda humanitaria para sobrevivir.
PACIFISTAS ALZAN SUS VOCES CONTRA LA GUERRA La feminista Lily Traubman desde Israel confirmó a FIRE que practicamente todos los dias en diferentes partes del país se realizan manifestaciones de protesta en contra del ataque a Gaza. Para el sábado 17 se ha convocado una manifestación de las mujeres de Haifa (lo que significa una manifestacion judia y palestina) con la consigan: ¡las mujeres de Haifa no callan más! y realizan un acto "cada ser humano tiene nombre" basta ya de la masacre en Gaza!" Israel necesita demostrar generosidad. Deberíamos buscar la paz con un enemigo que está vivo en vez de con uno muerto, y ¡cuanto antes mejor! escribía Dra. Gathering to Mourn and to Protest Grieve
together & reject the massive killing of civilians The current warfare in the Gaza area features terrible, rampant violence: thus far, more than 870 Palestinian deaths and more than 10 Israeli deaths, with thousands of wounded – most of them civilians and children. The overwhelming force used by the Israeli army against a civilian population and the scope of the killing are intolerable. This demands protest by Jews and Palestinians: We must protest the slaughter in Gaza and southern Israel, the choice to opt for brute force and violence instead of negotiations, the disdain for the sacredness of human life, the loss of faith in dialogue rather than violence to resolve conflict. Beyond protest, we need to mourn what has died on our side and within each of us; we need a way to open ourselves willingly to the pain and grief of the other side, and for both sides to express their shared sadness at the hopes and dreams that this terrible war has destroyed. NOTE THAT THIS SHARING DOES NOT ASSUME any sort of "symmetry" in the suffering of the two parties to this conflict at this time and place. Yet, the suffering of all is deserving of acknowledgment – and it is this acknowledgment that provides a foundation for redress and repair.
